The name Sparda is a legend in the Demon Earth world. The storey goes one of their storngest and most powerful warriors left many years ago to another world. A world which was learnt to be Earth itself, Sparda loved Earth as he lived among its people in a human disguise. His demonic form allowed him to age much slower then regular humans. They called him Spard the deserter, the Black Knight traitor. When the wars were forgotten from Human and Demons minds the story of Sparta still remained, however the references to the war were removed. It was not till sometime later a widow woman came to Demon Earth and gave birth to two childrens, twins, male. She told someone of how her husband had died, that mans name was Sparda. The woman is now dead, now her two sons have chosen their own paths to lead. But will it lead them to their destiny?

Background: The youngest of the two twins (born six minutes after Virgil) Dante always had a more care free approach to life and like his brother loved his mother. For Dante life was pretty weird, he had both Demon and Human blood in his veins but he felt he was more human than demon. While humans and Demons got along Dante and Virgil had a disagreement. Virgil believed humans to weak while Dante respected both species beliving their to be kind hearted demons as well as bad ones. He said one day to Virgil "even a Devil May Cry". Virgil did not believe that demons were weak and said Dante was as weak as a human. Besides these moments the boys would play together and loved it when their birthday came along. Also Dante had a huge weakness for pizza, he was like Garfield with Lasagnae.
When they turned 11 their mother was struck down by a form of illness which later was learnt to be poison, before she died she gave each boys half of her amulet each and told them to go live their lifes the way they wished. While Virgil blamed humans and swore revenge Dante chose he would grow strong and defend himself.
For the next 12 years Dante trained in a school on Demon Earth. He had inherited a sword he called Renegade, it was a blade sued by his father. When he was 18 he began triaining secretly outside of the school in the slums of the nearby city and managed to steal a pair of valuable hand guns, named Ebony and Ivory. Dante left the school when he was 20, his demon skills now focused and he felt stornger and more powerful then before. Realising he needed money Dante chose to open up his own business. A handyman who would take any dirty job for a reasonable amount. He named his business Devil May Cry, at his desk was a phone ad a photo of his mother, the amulet wrapped round his neck on a chain. He soon became known in the Demon Earth underworld for his fashion style and weapons. He mostly took jobs taking dangerous crooks and other mercs. He was a target a few times as well. Als on a few occasions he crossed blades with Virgil and the two were a evan match though he never learnt what Virgil was planning.

Background: The elder son of Sparda and Dante's brother Virgil is the spitting image of Dante but has a different heart. While Dante chose to live a life more human Virgil embraced his demon heritage, he believed he was destined for something great, but needed humans out of the way. While they had their squabbles the brothers once did care for one another. It all changed when they were 11, the only human Virgil ever loved, his mother was poisoned, all Virgil had left was his half of the amulet. Virgil blamed humans and left Dante behind. Travelling into the mountains he found a old temple where a demon swords master trained Virgil to use his demon powers to the full. Virgil mastered the Katana blamed and named his Yamato. Once his skills were finished he killed his master and took some of his clothes to give him his signature look. He also spiked up his hair to differ himself from Dante.
Virgil continues on his path of revenge towards humans, on some occaisons he was clashed with his equally strong brother. Virgil knew he needed power but for now help, he on one occasion clashed with a demon named Heero who could summon shadow creatures. Realising how strong he was the two forged a shaky alliance, Vigil now bides his time as he continues on his request to avenge his mother.
